✎ He was adopted at birth in San Francisco, and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area during the 1960s. He briefly attended Reed College before dropping out and deciding to travel through India to seek enlightenment and study Zen Buddhism. He co-founded Apple in 1976 to sell Wozniak's Apple I personal computer. The duo gained fame and wealth a year later for the Apple II, one of the first highly successful mass-produced personal computers. After leaving Apple, Jobs took a few of its members with him to found NeXT. In 1997, Apple acquired and merged NeXT, allowing Jobs to become CEO once again, reviving the company at the verge of bankruptcy.

✎ Jobs worked closely with designer Jonathan Ive to develop a line of products that would have larger cultural ramifications. Jobs helped to initiate the development of the visual effects industry when he funded the spinout of the computer graphics division of Lucasfilm in 1986. Pixar would eventually produce the first fully computer-animated film, Toy Story—an event made possible in part because of Jobs's financial support. He was diagnosed with a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor, and died on October 5, 2011.

3. Make mistakes

By the time he began classes at Harvard, he had already achieved a reputation as a programming prodigy.

5. Make a change in the world
Zuckerberg launched Facebook from his Harvard dormitory room on February 4, 2004.

6. Learn from the people around you
The group then introduced Facebook onto other campuses nationwide and moved to Palo Alto, California shortly afterwards.

7. Build a really good team
In 2007, at the age of 23, Zuckerberg became a billionaire as a result of Facebook's success.

The number of Facebook users worldwide reached a total of one billion in 2012.

9. Care the most about it
Since 2010, Time magazine has named Zuckerberg among the 100 wealthiest and most influential people in the world.

Jim Rohn: Take Control of Your Worry (Jim Rohn Motivation)
When a negative thought enters your mind, you have two options: You can let it have a life of its own, or you can control it with your attention.
If worry is alien to you, then you might want to check your pulse. Studies show that worry extends across our entire lifespans—over our finances, relationships, families, work, you name it.

A small amount of worry that does not disrupt your day is normal, expected and sometimes even productive. After all, it can help you assess risks, detect and attend to threats, and focus on potential solutions to the problems you face.

But once worry gets out of control, it can seep into every decision you make and significantly disrupt your life.
This Is Your Brain on Worry
When a negative thought enters the brain, you have two options: You can let it have a life of its own, or you can control it with your attention. But here is where the problem lies: Those who are big worriers don’t have much attentional control.

When this is the case, worry not only takes over the brain, but it also attacks thought processes and causes people to become even more glued to the worrisome issues.

A recent review led by psychologist Colette Hirsch outlined that people who worry all the time have excessive attention to threat—even when it is not clear a threat is actually present. This is not necessarily a conscious decision—it could actually be due to genetic variations—so the best way to predict and understand worry is not to ask people whether they feel anxious. Rather, it is to understand their unconscious tendencies toward threat.

People who worry often think that their anxieties will help or protect them in some way. They also feel convinced that their own thoughts and worries cannot be controlled. Deep down, though, worriers cannot tolerate uncertainty, and when they worry out loud, it helps them avoid doubt and even more potential negativity.
Overcome your intolerance of uncertainty by accepting the things you cannot control. Make a list of them, and when you think of them, drop them. Then, given that self-efficacy can help quell worry, why not begin building yourself up—both physically and emotionally? Practice being what you want to be, rather than waiting for yourself to magically become it.

I’m not suggesting that you should become the Dalai Lama or Hulk Hogan; I'm suggesting that you should invest in yourself. Hire a trainer who can guide you to better physical health, or find someone who will hold you accountable. Also, invest in building your self-efficacy by forgiving yourself for past mistakes and setting up small wins for your future.

Time: It’s the one thing that keeps on rolling, no matter what we do. And if we could choose a superhero power, many of us would probably choose to freeze it, just so we could buy ourselves a few more minutes, hours or even days to get something done. It’s one of life’s most precious gifts, no doubt. Why, then, do so many of us spend time inefficiently or even give our time up so willingly?
Time management is not just the ability to effectively accomplish your goals by planning and controlling how you spend the hours in your day. Time management goes far deeper, as it speaks to a more fundamental source of inner potential. It is a way of transforming the way you think so that you can consistently and sustainably use the time you have to create what truly matters for you.

With that said, start to also take note of how you give your time away to others. While we all want to be helpful, sometimes it behooves everyone if you say “no” instead. Because you cannot always afford to take on someone else’s tasks. And it will not serve others if you cannot be your best self for them.

You know when you get on an airplane, the first thing they say to you is, “If we run into trouble and we lose oxygen, these masks are going to drop.” What is the first thing they tell you to do — put the mask on your child? No. They tell you to put it on yourself first. Sounds like a selfish approach – your kid’s gasping for breath, “Oh, let me get myself some air.” But the reason is, if you don’t have oxygen while trying to give it to someone else, you’re going to pass out. You can’t help anyone if you don’t help yourself. It’s not selfish. It’s actually the least selfish thing you can do.

A fourth-generation Japanese American, Kiyosaki was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii.

2. The more you give, the more you receive
After graduating from Hilo High School in 1965, Kiyosaki attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy in New York.

3. Change the way you think
After graduating from college in New York, Kiyosaki began his career by taking a job with Standard Oil's tanker office. He resigned after 6 months to join the Marine Corps.

4. Focus
He served in the Marine Corps as a helicopter gunship pilot during the Vietnam War in 1972, where he was awarded the Air Medal.

5. Hard times bring new opportunities
Kiyosaki was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in June 1974. He then joined Xerox as an sales associate until June 1978.

6. Design the business properly
In 1977, Kiyosaki entered the retailing industry. He started a company that brought to market the first nylon and Velcro surfer wallets.

7. Know what you are working hard for
In 1994, he retired at the age of 47. In 1997, he launched Cashflow Technologies, a business education company which owns the Rich Dad and Cashflow brands.

8. Don't be afraid of losses
A financial literacy advocate, Kiyosaki has been a proponent of entrepreneurship, business education, investing, and that financial literacy should be taught in schools around the world.

9. Aim to acquire assets
Kiyosaki also maintains a monthly column on Yahoo Finance.

10. Stop saving money, hedge it
His sister, Emi Kiyosaki, is a former Tibetan Buddhist nun. He has co-authored one book with Emy called Rich Brother, Rich Sister.

✎ Many of his investment lessons came from his mother, including the admonition to save one-third of his money. He had aspired to become a photographer, but on the advice of his stepfather attended university, and developed his interest in business. He rearned an MBA in entrepreneurship from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario. After selling his share of SET, O'Leary started Softkey in a Toronto basement. In 2003, O'Leary became a co-investor and director at Storage Now, Canada's leading developer of climate controlled storage facilities. In 2008 he co-founded O'Leary Funds Inc.,a mutual fund company focused on global yield investing. Since 2009 he has been a shark on the American version of Dragons' Den, Shark Tank, which airs on ABC. In September 2011, O'Leary released his first book, Cold Hard Truth: On Business, Money & Life. In 2017 he campaigned to be the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Steve Jobs didn’t do many onstage interviews while he was leading Apple’s comeback.

An exception was his regular presence at the D: All Things Digital conference, created and produced by Recode co-founders Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg.

That’s where Jobs made many of his most memorable public appearances, starting with the first D Conference in 2003 — where he predicted the coming dominance of the smartphone — through his last D interview in 2010. It was also the stage where Jobs and his longtime rival Bill Gates spent an hour in 2007 reminiscing about the early days of computer history.

On the fifth anniversary of Jobs’s death, we’ve compiled some of his D Conference highlights.
